No, we only allow members to participate in one design team. However, it is completely normal to be interested in a few. You can rank which design team(s) you prefer when you apply.

For Juvo, Infinitum, and Terra, you do not need to be a U.S. citizen to apply and participate. However, NASA requires all Astra participants to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with green cards.

Students fill out an application which asks for general information and two short free-response questions. Applicants may be invited to an individual and group interview.

Time commitment varies by design team. For Astra and Terra, expect to spend at least 5-10 hours per week (higher closer to deadlines). Juvo and Infinitum usually have smaller time commitments.

The selected challenge is up to the team once recruited, which changes every year.
